Keeping the traditional style of original Italian trattorias, Il Vesuvio offers its customers the opportunity to try dishes of the famous Italian cuisine in general and the Neapolitan cuisine in particular.
Named after the emblematic volcano – at the edges of which Napoli is built – il Vesuvio welcomes you daily at one of the most picturesque areas of Corfu, Guilford Street.
Back in 1999, Patrizio Tonti, having a 25-year-long experience in running entertainment establishments decided to bring the memories and culinary tradition of his homeland to Corfu, thus opening the restaurant “il Vesuvio”, which was originally located at the area Potamos (5 km from the city of Corfu)
After 13 years of successful operation and having already been a point of reference thanks to its cuisine, il Vesuvio is transferred to the old city of Corfu and more specifically to Guilford Str. Without being complacent despite his success and taking a significant business risk Patizio decided to introduce both locals and visitors of the island to the traditional Neapolitan cuisine at a more easily accessible location.
A year later, in 2013, having already cemented its presence at the new location, il Vesuvio opened the gates of Sala Privata, a tasteful space at the opposite side of Guilford Str.
Today, at il Vesuvio, traditional recipes take shape, using both raw ingredients that are imported directly from Napoli and fresh local products, and await new and frequent visitors to enjoy them.
